SUMMARY:Developing Clinical Supervision Skills: Professional and Ethical Standards
DESCRIPTION:When & Where: November 4th\, 2024 from 12:00pm-1:30pm\, Virtually through Zoom \nCourse description: This training is aimed at professionals looking to enhance their supervisory skills in gambling disorder services. Participants will learn about key organizations involved in the advocacy\, regulation\, and oversight of counseling and social work providers in Ohio\, including gambling regulators. The training will cover licensing requirements and related authorities\, as well as ethical guidelines for mandated reporting and addressing ethical violations. Additionally\, it will address cultural competency and staff self-care. The session will conclude with case examples that encourage discussion on ethical decision-making in various situations. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nParticipants will gain knowledge of the various organizations involved in the ethical provsion of clinical counseling services in Ohio including licesing boards\, state organizations\, local mental health authorities\, regulators\, and organizations focused on the prevention and development of services for disordered gambling.\nParticipants will develop understanding of the requiremenrts of mandated reporting and ethical violation reporting and when such reports are necessary.\nParticipants will recognize the demographic diversity of Ohioans and the importance of cultural competence and humility in clinical practice.\n\nWho Should Attend: Treatment professionals that oversee gambling treatment services \nCost: No Cost \nContinuing Education: 1.5 CEUs in the S2 domain will be offered for those who have or are working towards their Clinical Supervisor (CS) Endorsement under the OCDP Board \nPresenters: \nMike Rosen\, LPCC-S \nMike is a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervision designation.  He has spent the last 13 years in the field of addiction treatment and co-occurring disorders.  He is currently working in a private practice setting helping individuals deepen insights to addiction tendencies.  He received a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Xavier University and has received advanced training in the treatment of gambling disorder.  He has provided gambling-specific trainingS at the state and local levels\, facilitates the Ohio Gambling Treatment Fellowship Program\, and provides supervision for PGNO’s Supervision Cohorts. \nJesse Wodrig\, MBA\, LCDCIII-GAMB\, OCPSA \nJesse is PGNO’s OGTN Manager. Jesse has worked in the treatment services field for 10 years primarily working with clients living with substance use disorders. He has both direct service and administrative experience in this field. Starting in 2020\, he started trainingS to build competency to assist clients living with gambling disorders\, and this has become his primary professional interest. As the OGTN Manager\, Jesse heads efforts to connect clients to telehealth services for assistance in treating gambling disorders while also facilitating occasional trainings.
