SUMMARY:Prevention Ethics Training
DESCRIPTION:Schedule: This virtual training will run on Friday\, October 4th from 9:00 AM – 12:15 PM EST and will include a 15-minute break .It will consist of 3 total hours of content. \nCourse description: The Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board has a Code of Ethics for Prevention Professionals as well as a Prevention Scope of Practice\, which are different than other disciplines. This training will review\, discuss\, and apply the requirements in order to ensure prevention practitioners are operating within the guidelines. \nPlease note: This training will meet the requirements for those interested in pursuing an OCPSA certification\, or for those renewing an OCPSA\, OCPS\, or OCPC certification. For those interested in obtaining an OCPS or OCPC designation\, 6.0 contact hours of ethics is required. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nBe knowledgeable about the Ohio’s Code of Ethics for Prevention Professionals\nHave a process for determining whether actions are ethical\nKnow where and how to report unethical actions\n\nWho Should Attend: Prevention professionals in need of ethics hours that are interested in pursuing an OCPSA certification\, or for those renewing an OCPSA\, OCPS\, or OCPC certification \nCost: \n$20 for Non-members \nFree for PGNO members \nTo receive a membership discount\, please log into your membership account to register \nContinuing Education: \n3.0 CEUs are available for this training that are counted toward Prevention Ethics. Problem Gambling Network of Ohio is an approved continuing education provider through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board\, Ohio Counselor\, Social Worker\, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board\, and the International Gambling Counselor Certification Board. \nLead Trainer: Claire Spada\, OCPC\, ICPS \nClaire is the Director of Workforce Development for PGNO. She has over 15 years of experience working in the prevention field in varying capacities and is an Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant. She has a passion for educating others on issues that can greatly impact their lives including drug\, alcohol\, and gambling prevention\, coping with emotions in a positive way\, and empowering young people in leadership roles. In her current role\, Claire oversees the Stages Training Series\, provides guidance for ADAMHS Boards and providers on how to best integrate gambling services as well as coordinates the Ohio Problem Gambling Conference.
