Course Description:
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, there were limited numbers of professionals who provided behavioral health services through telehealth. The pandemic served as a crash course in telehealth for many providers as services moved to remote methods as a means to continue services while also preventing the spread of COVID-19. With more behavioral health professionals utilizing telehealth services, it is important to consider and review practices in place governing services provided through telehealth. As virtual care continues to expand access to counseling, clinicians must be equipped to navigate the unique ethical, legal, and clinical considerations of remote service delivery and telehealth. This training provides counselors and supervisors with knowledge needed to deliver behavioral health services through telehealth platforms.
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will acknowledge the benefits and limitations of telehealth in providing behavioral health services.
2. Participants will be aware of compliance issues associated with telehealth including informed consent, documentation, and HIPAA considerations.
3. Participants will consider procedures addressing client safety when using telehealth.
Continuing Education: 1.5 Supervision CEUs are available for this training.

Presenters:
Mike Rosen, LPCC-S, ICGC-I
Mike is a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervision designation. He has spent the last 15 years in the field of addiction treatment and co-occurring disorders. He is currently working in a private practice setting helping individuals deepen insights to addiction tendencies. He received a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Xavier University and has received advanced training in the treatment of gambling disorder. He has provided gambling-specific trainings at the state and local levels, and provides supervision for PGNO’s Supervision Cohorts.
Jesse Wodrig, MBA, LCDCIII-GAMB, ICGC-I, OCPSA
Jesse Wodrig is currently the Director of Clinical Programs at Problem Gambling Network of Ohio (PGNO). He is involved in the coordination and delivery of services through Ohio Gambling Telehealth Network, Warm Transfer available through the Ohio Problem Gambling Helpline, and clinical training offered by PGNO. Prior to joining PGNO, Jesse had worked in areas including case management, counseling, and administration in the substance use disorder services field.
