Session Description
Prevention work surrounding problem gambling has some nuances that are unique when compared to traditional drug and alcohol prevention.
This session will provide an overview of traditional and emerging gambling trends, risk/protective factors, suggested CSAP strategy activities, and statewide resources specific to gambling. Participants will have an increased understanding of problem gambling and how to incorporate information into existing prevention programming as well as learn which at-risk populations to target for prevention services across the lifespan. This session will utilize large group discussion and chat features for continued engagement.

Speaker Bio
Claire Spada, OCPC, ICPS is the Director of Workforce Development for Problem Gambling Network of Ohio. She has over 15 years of experience working in the prevention field in varying capacities and is an Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant. She has a passion for educating others on issues that can greatly impact their lives including drug, alcohol, and gambling prevention, coping with emotions in a positive way, and empowering young people in leadership roles. In her current role, Claire manages PGNO’s trainings including those that target prevention professionals and clinicians, consultation and outreach programming, as well as coordinates the Ohio Problem Gambling Conference.
