Learning Objectives:
- Participants will understand problem gambling definitions and current statistics
- Participants will recognize current trends and dates specific to Ohio’s gambling and gaming landscape
- Participants will learn the risks and warning signs of problematic gambling
- Participants will understand co-morbidities of gambling addiction, substance abuse, and mental illness
- Participants will become familiar with screening tools to identify gambling addiction
- Participants will become familiar with other support services and available resources
12.0 CEUs are available for this training which can be used toward obtaining the GAMB Endorsement through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Board or towards becoming a counselor qualified to treat gambling disorder through the Ohio Social Worker, Counselor, and Marriage & Family Therapist Board.

Claire is the Workforce Development Manager for PGNO. She has over 15 years of experience working in the prevention field in varying capacities and is an Ohio Certified Prevention Consulsant. She has a passion for educating others on issues that can greatly impact their lives including drug, alcohol, and gambling prevention, coping with emotions in a positive way, and empowering young people in leadership roles. In her current role, Claire provides gambling funds guidance and support for Boards and Providers, manages the Stages Training Series, as well as coordinates the Ohio Problem Gambling Conference.
