Published: November 2, 2020

The National Council on Problem Gambling is gearing up for its virtual conference on November 5-6 and 12-13, 2020, when industry experts from across the country will examine the impact of problem gambling.

Did you know?

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an uptick in online gambling, including iLottery, sports betting, and social gambling.

Education about problem gambling for Ohioans is more important than ever before — and the National Council on Problem Gambling wants you to be a part of a solution.

A Virtual Experience

This event is a unique opportunity to learn from a wide range of public health, prevention, and treatment professionals.

This event will be fully virtual this year, but the National Council on Problem Gambling is expecting a positive turnout. Its Digital Symposium in July had record attendance and positive feedback from 96% of attendees.

Along with roundtable discussions and networking opportunities, this year’s conference will have keynote addresses from:

  • Lori Rugle, Ph.D., ICGC-II, BACC, Counselor, Trainer, RG Advisor on The Heart of Problem Gambling: Compassion and Self-Compassion in Treatment, Public Awareness and Responsible Gambling.
  • Noel Elrod, Ph.D., Truman V.A. Hospital; Heather Chapman, Ph.D., ICGC-II, BACC, Cleveland V.A. Medical Center on Sexual Minority Veterans and Gambling: Cultural Considerations.
  • Roger Olsen, Counselor, Paster, AL Council on Till Prison, Insanity, or Death Us Do Part: How Gambling Addiction Almost Destroyed our Marriage.
