New PSA Video and African American Toolkit Available
Published: February 8, 2021
February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the achievements of the African American community and recognize the pivotal role the people and culture have played in U.S. history.
Because of the importance of Black History Month, Get Set Before You Bet is excited to share a new PSA video and community toolkit specifically for the African American community!
African Americans in Ohio are a growing demographic for problem gambling, according to surveys conducted by Ohio for Responsible Gambling, and effective outreach and education needs to be focused on the intended audience.
Driven by one-on-one interviews and focus group insights, this PSA takes an educational approach that helps share a direct message of responsibility without judgment.
The new :15- and :30-second videos feature bright colors with engaging animation. The video narrator asks viewers to take an honest look at their gambling activity to see if it is healthy, and reminds viewers that gambling is a form of entertainment, not a form of revenue.
This new Community Toolkit and PSA video offer additional resources to connect with communities about responsible gambling.
