Get to Know The Statewide Prevention Coalition Association
Published: January 13, 2020
“Before You Bet” is proud to partner with organizations that seek to create communities that foster safe and healthy lifestyles. One of those organizations is the Statewide Prevention Coalition Association (SPCA).
Created by Prevention Action Alliance, SPCA provides a statewide infrastructure for members to share their individual expertise and resources in pursuit of common goals for healthy communities. Those members consist of community coalitions, local task forces, family engagement advocacy groups and certified prevention agencies. Together, they help to plan, implement, evaluate and sustain prevention strategies within communities.
From Cincinnati to Columbus to Cleveland – coalitions can be found in communities all across Ohio. The SPCA holds six annual meetings, where members come together to share lessons learned, strategies and practices. They also hear from state and national experts in prevention.
The next SPCA meeting is coming up next week on Jan. 20th in Columbus, Ohio. The meeting will focus on advocacy around policy issues. It will also include state partner updates, legislative updates and networking opportunities.
“Before You Bet” knows that great things can happen when like-minded people come together. The upcoming SPCA meeting promises to produce further proof of that.
